crossed

Posted on Mar 23rd, 2008 by kirstenz : natural creature kirstenz

walking for a thousand miles
borders to cross
a barrier passes
seeing beings instead of the masses
meeting people with similar smiles

my kind looking kind like a human kind
all born from a shared scared and restless mind
nameless faces
division is what makes us each
and division brought us out of reach

walking among the others i am
walking along the lines of men
leaving no traces
nowhere to start
now here i am part of the parting parts
it's the whole going on without ending
and telling the truth
will need no defending

we are all earthlings
giving birth to us
and being crossed
we interdepend
with words beating
through hearts meeting
while living the life of world citizens

get lost

my mind - my force - wooden sculpture from loris marazzi

while mind is growing
erosion from environment
is carving a mental landscape
where we easily get lost

how to find our way back
when previous tracks
are being changed by its own movement ?

that's like fighting the wind
swimming up stream
struggling against
whatever what force

why want to go back ?
why do we look for familiar paths
a reference for what once was
but is gone for good and all

get lost
and don't forget to enjoy the scenery

there is
no thing
there is
perception
senses
sensing
naming it me
and from there
sensing you
and me calling it
some thing
else
where

never mind what's on my mind
games to play and ways to say
the brain will wave as long

as blood circles
inspiration gets expired
life is being lived

feel the bones held by muscles
system nerves chemically ruled

what a fool
to think i am
more then that
i am

there is no body
to ask for what and
why on earth am i

" Every individual, local community, sector and organization,
whether private, public, national, international or non-governmental,
has an obligation and an interest in changing outlooks
through education and by example,
thereby helping to end thoughtless or deliberate waste and destruction. "

Kofi Anan
On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity 2004

this years theme is "Biodiversity and Climate Change"
same message can be repeated again today

watch it ... watch it ... watch it

and do something about it

now

you

do

it

in motion

Posted on Mar 18th, 2007 by kirstenz : natural creature kirstenz

mouth shut, eyes closed
watching the cacophony
flocks of worthless words
whirling within my skull

i am a trembling membrane
i am a trembling membrane
i am a trembling membrane

sounds around, still shouting
listen to the silent mind
can I cry here quietly ?
broken letters won't come out

i am a trembling membrane

shivering from frozen movements
all cells inside a resonance
the echo of a distant notion

in motion
removing

renaissance
in sane

i am a trembling membrane

mossy elephant

Posted on Mar 1st, 2007 by kirstenz : natural creature kirstenz

The blind men & the Elephant

It was six men of Indostan
To learning much inclined
Who went to see the Elephant
(Though all of them were blind),
That each by observation
Might satisfy his mind
The First approached the Elephant,
And happening to fall
Against his broad and sturdy side,
At once began to bawl:
"God bless me! but the Elephant
Is very like a wall!"
The Second, feeling of the tusk,
Cried, "Ho! what have we here
So very round and smooth and sharp?
To me 'tis mighty clear
This wonder of an Elephant
Is very like a spear!"
The Third approached the animal,
And happening to take
The squirming trunk within his hands,
Thus boldly up and spake:
"I see," quoth he, "the Elephant
Is very like a snake."
The Fourth reached out an eager hand,
And felt about the knee.
"What most this wondrous beast is like
Is mighty plain," quoth he;
"Tis clear enough the Elephant
Is very like a tree."
The Fifth, who chanced to touch the ear,
Said: "E'en the blindest man
Can tell what this resembles most;
Deny the fact who can,
This marvel of an Elephant
Is very like a fan!"
The Sixth no sooner had begun
About the beast to grope,
Then seizing on the swinging tail
That fell within his scope,
"I see," quoth he, "the Elephant
Is very like a rope."
And so these men of Indostan
Disputed loud and long.
Each in his own opinion
Exceeding stiff and strong,
Though each was partly in the right,
And all were in the wrong.

John Godfrey Saxe

(an old one.. but still so very true)

owl

Posted on Feb 19th, 2007 by kirstenz : natural creature kirstenz

as soon as darkness dispels the light
these days there is a sound at night

somewhere deep
from silhouetted trees
comes a long low tone

i hear

... you ...
... you ...

or is it

... who ...
... who ...

it is the owl being alone
